I know I have not been posting on this blog for nearly one month. Its mainly because I was busy with my other blog. So here’s a good make money online post for you.

I recently set up my first proxy - Unisurfer.info. I started it because I wanted to make some money after selling it. I first of all bought the domain, set up hosting (free for the first month) and uploaded the template. The proxy was up in an hour with a few minutes work.

Here’s what I spent on it:

Hosting from MonsterProx - Free (for the first month)

I’m hoping to develop it well and sell it after one month for about $40. What do you think?

Today when I logged into my Feedburner account, I saw that my blog’s readers read count showed 0. I was schocked. I mean, all of my readers wouldn’t all of a sudden unsubscribe from my feed, would they? Hope they fix the problem soon.

Have you seen that blogs like John Chow get over 100 comments for each post. I’ve always wanted to have such a huge number of comments on my posts. Lets see how a blog can have more comments.

1. Use the Top Commentators Plugin - This is a nifty little plugin that lists commentators who have made the highest number of comments and links back to their blogs. This plugin really encourages people to leave a comment on your blog. If you want to tweak the comment a bit, have a look at this really nice tutorial by Shankar Ganesh. This plugin is a must-have if you want more comments for your blog.
2. Invite Comments - While writing your posts, don’t put all of your ideas together leaving nothing for the comments. Ask questions to your readers, ask for their opinion and be open-ended.
3. Make it easier to Comment - The main reason why many people fail to comment on blogs is because the commenting process is a big hurdle for them. Make the commenting process easier for them.

Have you felt that most of your affiliate links are not being clicked? Visitors naturally don’t like to click on affiliate links. So, if you want to make some commissions from affiliate products, you need to cloak your affiliate links. When you cloak your affiliate link, more people will tend to sign up through the link. There are a lot of bloggers out there who are struggling to effectively cloak their affiliate links. In this post, I will show three ways to cloak you links.

1. Link Cloaking Wordpress Plugin
Wordpress has plugins for almost everything. Use this plugin to cloak your affiliate links. All you have to do is:

• Download the plugin.
• Upload the plugin to wp-content/plugins directory using Filezilla or any other FTP client.
• In the Wordpress dashboard, go to Plugins and Activate the Link Cloaking Plugin.
• Go to Options -> Permalinks and click “Update Permalinks”. This ensures that the plugin’s link redirection code is added to the WordPress .htaccess file.

2. Use a free Online service

There are many online services that can cloak or shorten your affiliate links. The one that I like very much is aCloaker.com.

3. Use .htaccess redirect

This is the method I use to cloak affiliate links. Simply create a folder called go in your public_html folder and create and upload a .htaccess file in it. Write the following lines of code in it:

Redirect /go/site http://www.domain.com/affiliateid

Repeat this method of as many sites you want to redirect to. When users will hover the mouse over your link they will only see http://www.domain.com/go/nameofsite.
